Industrial Biocides Applications

The Industrial Biocide range covers traditional actives such as PCMX, DCMX, PCMC, OPP and chlorophen which have applications in many disinfectant, antiseptic and adhesive applications. The recent popularity of antimicrobial household applications has led to renewed interest in these molecules by many multinational corporations.

Their excellent mammalian toxicology profiles and activity against many types of pathogenic bacteria makes them ideally suited to domestic consumer use. For polymer and paint industries, isothiazolinone chemistry and formaldehyde condensates are widely used for in-can preservation, whilst a range of modern, non-toxic dry-film fungicides and specific algaecides are available to protect coatings from microbiological attack on masonry surfaces.

Many diverse applications in water-treatment, leather processing, metal-working fluids, inks and starches etc. require specific formulations of preservatives which will be both compatible to the end-product and will also confer sufficient protection against the particular range of problem microorganisms.

To meet this need, we have produced a range of biocide combinations under the well-known NIPACIDE brand which include active agents such as triazines, TCMTB, bronopol, dazomet, carbendazim, octyl-isothiazolinone and iodopropynyl butylcarbamate.
